FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CLEARS PATH FOR VERIFIED CONTRACTOR DEBTS, RESUMES WAGE AWARD PAYMENTS

As of June 25, 2025, the Federal Government will continue its phased payment of N35,000 wage award arrears to civil servants. According to the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), payment of the five-month arrears commenced in May 2025, with monthly installments scheduled until all arrears are settled. The next payment is slated for June 2025, following the payment of the June salary. Introduced as a palliative measure after the removal of fuel subsidies, the wage award aims to cushion the economic impact on workers.

Oluwatimileyin Ajayi was sentenced to death by hanging by the High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State, for the murder of Salome Adaidu, a member of the National Youth Service Corps.
