The appointment of ten permanent secretaries and the establishment of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Civil Service Commission have received President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's assent.
The announcement of the development was made in a press release issued in Abuja on Tuesday by Anthony Ogunleye, the Director of Press in the Office of the FCT Minister.
According to Naija News, President Obama was earlier contacted by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to request his permission for the nominations.
This permission complies with the requirements of Federal Capital Territory Civil Service Commission (Establishment) Act, 2018, Section 2 (2) (a & b). According to this section, a Chairman and six more members, one for each of The nation's geopolitical zones ought to be designated.
The following people have been appointed to positions within the FCT Civil Service Commission as Chairman and Commissioners: Barr. Martin Azubike (South East), Miskoom Alexander Naantuam (North Central), Hon. Jide Jimoh (South West), Chief Anthony Okeah (South-South), Mohammed Magaji Ibrahim (North East), and Engr. Emeka Ezeh (Chairman).
Abdulkadir Zulkarfi was appointed Coordinator of the Satellite Towns Development Department, Chief Felix Obuah was designated Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, and Oladiran Olufemi Akindele was designated Coordinator of the Abuja Infrastructure Investment Center in order to address the staffing needs within key Agencies of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
