Ngelale claimed that the president had also given his approval for the suspension of financial and economic sanctions against the Republic of Guinea in the statement headlined "Nigeria opens land and air borders with Republic of Niger, lifts other sanctions."

The President has ordered the immediate lifting of the following sanctions against the Republic of Niger:

The ECOWAS no-fly zone for all commercial flights to and from the Niger Republic, as well as the closure of the land and air borders between Nigeria and the Niger Republic.

All business and financial operations are suspended, "Freeze of assets of the Republic of Niger in ECOWAS Central Banks and freeze of assets of the Republic of Niger, state enterprises, and parastatals in commercial banks."
