Fraudsters hack into customers' accounts and empty them, causing security issues for GTBank.

 Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) plc, one of Nigeria's troubled banks, has been experiencing network outages lately, which allow fraudsters to access customers' accounts and withdraw money without authorization.

 An Abuja resident shared how her GTBank account was emptied of N124,000 on August 10 and 11 following an account hack. 

The GTBank customer, who requested to remain anonymous, informed newsmen that she received some messages on August 10 containing one-time passwords (OTPs), and that she later received debit alerts totaling N23,128 for transactions she had not authorized.
