One of the biggest banks in Nigeria, Access Bank, cofounder, was one of the six fatalities in a helicopter crash in California on Friday.
In the crash, Herbert Wigwe lost his life together with his wife, son, and a previous president of the Nigerian stock market.
The passing of Mr. Wigwe was referred to by President Bola Tinubu as a "overwhelming tragedy".
To ascertain the reason of the crash, investigators are searching the southern Californian desert.
The piloted helicopter went down approximately sixty miles (96 km) from Las Vegas while traveling from Palm Springs to Boulder City, Nevada.
The 57-year old banker was reportedly traveling to Las Vegas to watch Sunday's Super Bowl, according to Nigerian media.

Early in 2024, he intended to launch a new banking service in Asia.
After learning of his passing, tributes poured in. It was described as "shocking beyond comprehension" by President Tinubu.
According to the president's office, his passing was "a terrible blow" for Nigeria. According to the department, the accident site was close to Nipton, on the Mojave Desert Preserve's boundary.
