Ramadan 2024: Sultan advises Nigerian Muslims to watch for the new moon on Sunday the 10th of March, 2024.
Under the direction of Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-
General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Muslims across the country have been urged to start looking for the Ramadan moon on Sunday, 2024 (1445 AH).
The Council advised the Muslim Ummah to look up in the sky on the designated date, which is the 29th of Sha'aban 1445 AH, to find the crescent of Ramadan 1445, according to a statement made by Prof. Salisu Shehu, Deputy Secretary General of the NSCIA.
He said that the whole Muslim Ummah is congratulated by Sultan Abubakar on the impending 1445 AH Ramadan fast.
Additionally, he stated that the council is advising wealthy Muslims in the nation to perform charitable deeds for the underprivileged members of their communities before to, during, and following Ramadan in light of the nation's current economic difficulties.
The Council hereby orders Muslims nationwide to search for the Ramadan crescent on Sunday, March 10, 2024, and to wait for His Eminence, the President-General of NSCIA, to make an official declaration regarding the start of the 1445 AH Ramadan fast.
Shehu remarked, "We wish all Muslims in Nigeria and around the world a happy Ramadan in advance.
