The North West NLC suggests a minimum wage of N485,000.

National Minimum Wage for workers in the nation is set to be N485,000 by the Nigeria Labour Congress in the Northwest zone.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the idea was included in position paper that was given in the North West Public hearing on Thursday.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the idea was included in a position paper that was given in the North West Public hearing on Thursday.

The Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage held a hearing at Government House, Kano's Coronation Hall.

On behalf of the North West leadership, Mr. Kabir Inuwa, the chairman of the Kano State congress, delivered the presentation. Given the state of the national economy, he added, the N485,000 suggestion was essential.

Proposing a new minimum salary that accounts for the cost of living and guarantee
shows that workers have a respectable level of living.

The suggested monthly minimum salary should be decided by doing a thorough analysis of the state of the economy, rates of inflation, and the necessities for employees and their families.

According to Congress, "a minimum wage must reflect the realities of the economic situation and accordingly assess the least income that would be sufficient for survival of a family of six in order for it to achieve its intended goals," Inuwa stated.

It is the expected monthly cost per household (father, mother, and four children), as far as he is concerned.

The head of the NLC stated that the minimum wage act provided every safeguard needed to guarantee adherence. Trade unions or an individual may start this shows that workers have a respectable level of living.
