BREAKING: Bobrisky fails to meet EFCC bail requirements

 

Well-known transvestite Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, has not complied with the terms of his bail set forth by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Bobrisky was apprehended and arrested by the EFCC's Lagos State Command on Wednesday due to naira misuse, naira note spraying, and currency mutilation.

Dele Oyewale, the EFCC spokesperson, confirmed the news about his bail and his refusal to comply with the restrictions during a phone chat on Thursday night with our correspondent.

"He has been granted administrative bail but has not yet met bail conditions," stated Oyewale.

Oyewale has already stated, "Bobrisky is with us." He is under our Lagos command after being taken into custody in Lagos last night. Among other things, we detained him for allegedly abusing naira notes, spraying nara notes, and mutilating cash.

"We sincerely intend to restore the naira's dignity. Even while our investigation is still underway, charges against him will undoubtedly be brought against him soon.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, said in a statement later on social media that it had "commenced investigation of Idris Okuneye, a.k.a Bobrisky, for purportedly spraying Naira notes." The statement was titled "EFCC Grills Bobrisky for Naira Abuse."


The 31-year-old was invited by the EFCC after a video emerged of her showering and flaunting wads of fresh Naira notes during the Ajakaju movie premiere on March 24, 2024, at Film One Circle Mall in Lekki, Lagos. The film is produced by Nollywood actress and producer Eniola Ajao.

The investigation also turned up evidence that he had committed the alleged crime at various other parties and event venues at different periods.

As per the Commission's invitation, he showed up at the On Wednesday, April 4, 2024, in the early hours, the Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC was present for questioning and offered statements.

"He will face charges in court after the investigations are finished."

SWAN: Team Nigeria's appalling performance at the Paris Olympics is unacceptable.

The performance of Team Nigeria in the 2024 Olympic Games has been characterized as significantly below expectations by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
