Breaking: Chief Priest of Cubana pleaded not guilty, Gets ₦10 Million Bail

The socialite must comply with the terms of her bail within seven days and turn in her passport for court custody.
For alleged naira abuse, well-known Instagram personality Pascal Okechukwu, often referred to as Cubana Chief Priest, has entered a not guilty plea.

In response to the three counts that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had brought against him, he entered a not guilty plea.

Judge Kehinde Ogundare arraigned the socialite on Wednesday at the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Cubana Chief Priest was charged with three counts by the anti-graft commission for allegedly misusing naira during a social gathering, an act that violated the Central Bank Act of 2007.
Following his not guilty plea, the court granted him bail in the amount of ₦10 million, with two responsible sureties in the same amount who had to be at least 16 years old and gainfully employed by the federal or state government.

The paperwork must be validated by the court, and the sureties must possess landed property.

The Chief Priest of Cubana is also had to turn in his passport for judicial custody.

He was released to his attorney with the need that the bail conditions be completed in seven days, but in the interim, the attorney must promise to bring the client at a later time. He will be lodged in a correctional facility if he doesn't comply.
Channels Television has a copy of the April 4th charge filing by Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), the prosecutor for the EFFC, and seven more attorneys who were defending the chairman of the Commission.

"That on February 13, 2024, at the Eko Hotel, within the jurisdiction of the court, while dancing during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours, and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007," according to the first count of the complaint.

A claim was made in count 2 that you, Okechukwu Pascal, "tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria sometime in 2020, in Lagos during a social event."
by doing so for two hours, and as a result, you violated the Central Bank Act of 2007's Section 21(1), which makes you liable for punishment.

"That sometime in January 2024, in Lagos, during a social event, you Okechukwu Pascal tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007," was the allegation made in Count 3.
In the meantime, the accused also made the court aware of his impending request to contest the court's jurisdiction to hear the case.

The application hearing has been postponed till May 2nd by Justice Ogundare.

This occurs just a few days after the EFCC charged controversial transvestite Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, with similar offenses for which he received a six-month prison sentence.
