BREAKING' On Wednesday, the EFCC would arrest the chief priest of Cuba for misusing Naira.

Popular Instagram personality Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, is facing three counts of money laundering and other offenses from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly spray-painting and tampering with naira during a social gathering in violation of the Central Bank Act of 2007.

On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, Cubana Chief Priest will appear in court before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court, Lagos.

A copy of the accusation was obtained by Channels Television. Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), the prosecutor for the EFFC, submitted it on April 4th along with seven other attorneys who were representing the chairman of the Commission.

"That you, Okechukwu Pascal, on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel, within the jurisdiction of the court, while dancing during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours, and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to law," according to the first count of the complaint.and subject to penalties under Central Bank Act of 2007 Section 21(1).

"That sometime in 2020, in Lagos, during a social event, you Okechukwu Pascal tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours, and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007," the allegation read.

"That sometime in January 2024, in Lagos, during a social event, you Okechukwu Pascal tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007," was the allegation made in Count 3.

This occurs a few days following the Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, is a controversial cross-dresser who was sentenced to six months in prison after being charged with identical offenses by the EFCC.21 (1).

SWAN: Team Nigeria's appalling performance at the Paris Olympics is unacceptable.

The performance of Team Nigeria in the 2024 Olympic Games has been characterized as significantly below expectations by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
