Charly Boy chastises the EFCC for pursuing Nigerian celebrities over mistreatment of Naira.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as Charley Boy is more often known, has come under fire for engaging in "frivolous shenanigans to keep distracting Nigerians."

He asked why celebrities are being targeted by the EFCC for mistreatment of Naira.

"A part of our age-long familiar culture which promotes bonding among people," he continued, is sprinkling Naira.

Then he questioned why the EFCC was pursuing cases for Naira abuse instead of more severe offenses.

He claimed that the three counts the EFCC filed against Paschal Okechukwu, also known as the Cubana Chief Priest, "leave one thinking that the Commission has no important job to do" and that their actions are merely gratuitous in order to "keep distracting Nigerians who are impoverished, hungry, and without hope."

"Currently, Nigerians' attention is being drawn to an issue that has no bearing whatsoever, on the well-being of the ordinary people or the National economy," Charley Boy posted on Instagram.

"It's now a big deal to arrest and charge someone for spraying Naira, the local currency, at social gatherings."

"Why waste so much energy on trivial, ordinary, and harmless misdemeanors committed by people seeking attention instead of pursuing those who abuse their executive authority to steal enormous sums of money from the public coffers with reckless impunity?" he asked.

"God punish all of us in the EFCC; we're not going to die any better. Fathers of Ur.
"Really, my people don't think that the EFCC should be handling family matters?"

SWAN: Team Nigeria's appalling performance at the Paris Olympics is unacceptable.

The performance of Team Nigeria in the 2024 Olympic Games has been characterized as significantly below expectations by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN). Through the Secretary-General of the Association, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, SWAN President Mr. Isaiah Benjamin issued a statement stating that Nigeria's failure to return from the recently concluded Olympics with a medal was unacceptable. The Association blamed the country's enormous failure in Paris on administrative incompetence and ignorance, which became evident when the name of Favour Ofili, a highly regarded track and field athlete from Nigeria, was discovered to be missing from the list of competitors for the 100-meter event. After the Games, SWAN questioned why there were so many claims of medal hauls that administered by the sports authorities despite their full knowledge that nothing, not even the amount of preparation necessary to ensure a podium finish, was in place. Nigerians were led to believe that ev...
