NSUK Governing Council Names Acting Vice Chancellor in Breaking News"

The Pro Chancellor of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi and Chairman of Council Prof. Attahiru Muhammadu Jega has approved the appointment of Prof. Abdullahi Sallau Modibbo as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University pending the appointment of a substantive Vice-Chancellor.

According to a statement signed the Registrar and Secretary to Council of the University Bala I Ahmed II states that the appointment takes effect from Tuesday 2nd April 2024.

The statement further adds that as Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Modibbo will cover the office of the Vice-Chancellor and take full responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the University in consultation with the Pro-Chancellor.

The appointment is coming as the tenure of Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed popularly reffed to as the "Buffalo Soldier" comes to an end today Tuesday 2nd April 2024.

Until his current appointment Professor Abdullahi Sallau Modibbo is the DVC Academic of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

Acting Vice-Chancellor Named by    NSUK   Governing Council Prof. Abdullahi Sallau.  Modibbo has     been appointed as the   acting vice chancellor of Nasarawa State University,      Keffi, pending the nomination of a substantive vice-chancellor. Prof. Attahiru    Muhammadu Jega, the chairman of the council, has approved this appointment.

The appointment is effective as of Tuesday, April 2, 2024, according to a statement signed by the University of Bala I Ahmed II's Registrar and Secretary to Council.

The statement goes on to say that, in her role as Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor.    Modibbo would assume full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the.    university, working in tandem with the Pro-Chancellor.

The appointment coincides with Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed's term, which is widely known to have come to the final   episode of "Buffalo Soldier" airs today, Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Professor Abdullahi Sallau Modibbo is the DVC Academic of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, until his current position.

SWAN: Team Nigeria's appalling performance at the Paris Olympics is unacceptable.

The performance of Team Nigeria in the 2024 Olympic Games has been characterized as significantly below expectations by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN). Through the Secretary-General of the Association, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, SWAN President Mr. Isaiah Benjamin issued a statement stating that Nigeria's failure to return from the recently concluded Olympics with a medal was unacceptable.
