With immediate effect, Davido dissolves the DMW record label and discloses Peruzzi's and other signed artists' fates.

Nigerian music mogul David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has taken a bold step by partnering with UnitedMasters to start his own record label, Nine+ Records.

As part of this revolutionary agreement, Davido will assume responsibility for artist development and A&R, opening the door for a select group of Nigerian musicians who are ready to revolutionize the music industry.

Consequently, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), his previous record label, was disbanded.

The OBO Crooner declared on his X account on Saturday that all of his current DMW artists would be switching to Nine+.

Artists like Dremo, Yonda, Peruzzi, Idowest from Lagos Island, DJ Ecool, Danagog, B-Red, Deekay, May D, Deinde, Ayanfe, Liya, Morravey, SayTheyCallMESG, and Logos Olori are among those who are now signed to DMW.

David Stout is the owner of UnitedMasters, a recent addition to the African music market that specializes in talent development, artist signing, A&R, and backstage management.

Steve Stoute, the CEO and founder of UnitedMasters, said during the launch:

We have demonstrated our commitment to Africa by investing in artists, education, and technology over the past two years. We are going all in today. By partnering with Davido on this new project and introducing Nine Plus Records, we are furthering our goal of serving as a conduit for musicians across the continent. We'll find and nurture up-and-coming musicians together, providing them with branding and synch support chances.

Davido continued, saying, "This announcement represents an exciting new chapter for developing and established artists around the world. I couldn't be more proud to partner with Steve and the team at United Masters."

SWAN: Team Nigeria's appalling performance at the Paris Olympics is unacceptable.

The performance of Team Nigeria in the 2024 Olympic Games has been characterized as significantly below expectations by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN). Through the Secretary-General of the Association, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, SWAN President Mr. Isaiah Benjamin issued a statement stating that Nigeria's failure to return from the recently concluded Olympics with a medal was unacceptable. The Association blamed the country's enormous failure in Paris on administrative incompetence and ignorance, which became evident when the name of Favour Ofili, a highly regarded track and field athlete from Nigeria, was discovered to be missing from the list of competitors for the 100-meter event. After the Games, SWAN questioned why there were so many claims of medal hauls that administered by the sports authorities despite their full knowledge that nothing, not even the amount of preparation necessary to ensure a podium finish, was in place. Nigerians were led to believe that ev...
