Victoria Abuka, the head of Fidelity Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team, emphasized the significance of the Fidelity Food Bank initiative while speaking to reporters yesterday in Keffi, Nasarawa state, during the Fidelity Food Drive in collaboration with the ABBASID Charity Foundation and Sen. Ahmed Wadada Aliyu (Sarkin Yankin Keffi).
The effort, which aims to address Nigeria's urgent food security issues, is focused on providing food kits to underprivileged areas.
According to Abuka, the program has come a long way since it started in April 2003; to far, more than 100,000 food packets have been delivered around the country. She emphasized that these allocations have each month reached families in over 100 areas, delivering essential nutrition where it is most needed.
She went on to say that Fidelity Bank intentionally targets communities in need of support and sends food packets that are designed to benefit households with five members by working with 19 partners.
According to Abuka, the program has received strong backing from local authorities, demonstrating its critical role in combating hunger throughout the nation.
Victoria emphasized the critical importance of these kinds of programs, especially during periods of increased food insecurity. She also praised the federal and state governments' coordinated efforts in addressing this important issue.
In addition, she emphasized the significance of collaborations in the continuous battle against hunger and conveyed hope for future advancements in lowering food insecurity via joint efforts.
"While Fidelity Bank goes on The Fidelity Food Bank program, she said, "stands as a beacon of hope, illuminating the path toward a hunger-free Nigeria in its fight for food security."
Hajia Hauwa Abbas, the founder of the Abbasid Foundation, stated that the food drive got started after she was selected to serve as the bank's ambassador for the food bank in the North. She mentioned the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Jigawa, Zamfara, Zaria, Kebbi, Bauchi, and Kano as some of the states that will gain.
"Although Fidelity Bank takes money from us, they also give it back to us, especially to the women, which makes me very happy," the woman remarked.
The Nasarawa West Senatorial District's Sen. Wadada Ahmed said that he joined Fidelity Bank in its effort to feed his constituents.
Ahmed stated that the action was a continuation of his kind gift to his constituents, particularly for orphans and widows, and was represented by his wife Zainab Wadada-Ahmed.

The food pack's recipient, Mrs. Susan Nyikwagh, Secretary of Frontline Women for Development in Nasarawa, thanked the bank and other partners for their kindness. Nyikwagh, who is also from Nasarawa State, stated that the bank's generosity inspired her to think about opening an Give an account of her offspring. She urged other financial institutions to follow Fidelity's lead.
