BREAKING: Due to job racketeering, FMC Keffi fires two employees and suspends others.

Due to allegations of employment racketeering, the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Keffi, Nasarawa State, fired two of its employees.

This was revealed to reporters on Friday in Keffi by the hospital's chief medical director, Dr. Yahaya Adamu.

Six more, he claimed, had also been suspended for the same offense.

"The management immediately constituted a committee to investigate the matter when the allegation was reported to them," Adamu stated. For additional action, the officials deemed deficient were turned over to its Senior Staff Affairs Disciplinary Committee.

“The investigation was conducted in public, and after finishing our work, we sent our recommendations to the minister because the hospital board has not yet been established.

"The recommendations were changed, and everyone accused of employment racketeering as well as those accused of other offenses were given a final position.

Nine employees were impacted, and each of them underwent a trial according to the extent of their involvement. He claimed that only one member of the impacted staff had been found not guilty.

Therefore, no one found guilty went unpunished, and those who were thought to be guilty but whose cases had not yet been resolved were asked to stay until their issues were resolved.

"It is unfair for anyone to claim that we permitted some of the accused individuals to return to work following these actions."
