The Police are mandated by a Federal High Court located in Kano to force Muhammadu Sanusi II, the reinstated Emir of Kano, out of the Emir's Palace located in the Kofar Kudu neighborhood of Kano State's capital city.
In addition to ordering the police to guarantee that Emir Bayero received all rights and benefits owed to him, the court, presided over by Justice S. A. Amobeda, granted an ex-parte motion brought by the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero, on Tuesday.
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), the Inspector General of Police, the State's Commissioner of Police, and the other seven defendants to the lawsuit were also ordered by the court to refrain from preventing Bayero from using his formal residence in the Kofar Kudu neighborhood of the city, along with the use of all the rights and benefits that come with being the Emir of Kano.
After hearing from M.L. Yusufari, SAN, who appeared with Abdul Muhammad, SAN, Abdul Adamu Fagge, Esq., Abdulrazak A. Ahmad, Esq., and Bashiru Ibrahim, Esq., representing the applicant, the judge granted the order, stating that the action was necessary to uphold justice and the peace in Kano State.
According to LEADERSHIP, on Monday, a Kano State High Court issued comparable rulings against Emir Bayero.

The suit has been postponed until June 4, 2024 for a hearing. The defendants include the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), the Attorney General of Kano State, the Nigeria Police Force, the Inspector General of Police, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, State Security Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, and the Nigerian Air Force.
Remember that the battle for the emirship of Kano started when the state assembly of Kano decided to overturn the statute that established four additional emirates in the state and named Aminu Bayero as the new emir of Kano.
The revocation made it possible for Aminu Ado Bayero to be removed as the Emir of Kano and the restoration of Sanusi II, who was overthrown almost four years prior.
But on May 23, the Kano State government, led by Governor Abba Yusuf, disregarded a Federal High Court decision ordering the state not to implement the new Emirate Council Law 2024.
After arriving back in Kano on Saturday morning following his visit to Ogun State, Bayero took up residence in a small palace in the state's Nasarawa Local Government Area, while Sanusi II assumed control of the major palace in Kofar Kudu.
The governor of Kano State ordered Bayero's arrest in response to the development, but the police insisted they would follow the earlier ruling by the Federal High Court, which had halted the execution of the revised Kano Emirate statute 2024.
