The pathologist's assertion on May 15 that an autopsy on Mohbad's decomposing corpse was unable to determine the cause of his death prompted this disclosure from NMS.
TIMBLOGGIST remembers that the African Foundation for Justice and African Television offered a N50 million reward to anyone with information about the murderers of 27-year-old Mohbad, who passed away inexplicably and sparked protests and controversy across the country.
Esther Dede, a Client Services Associate at NMS's Forensic Divisions, said that the deceased singer's toxicity test was not carried out anyplace on the lab's grounds.
Dede stated, "Unfortunately, we do not have a case for that patient."
However, Dede stated, "We would need authorization from the submitting agency to maintain our compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations."
When contacted on Wednesday, Gbenga Omotoso, the Lagos state commissioner for information, insisted that NMS Lab was the name of the laboratory that the state's DNA and Forensic Centre had submitted for Mohbad's autopsy.
The personnel from Lagos State DNA and Forensic Center who collected the sample there informed me of this. According to TIMBLOGGIST, Wahab Shittu, Mohbad's attorney, promised that the singer's autopsy results, as revealed by the pathologist, would not be the last.
