"TikToker" is Arrested by Police in Adamawa on Charges of Social Media Abuse

Aliyu Musa, 33, has been taken into custody by the Adamawa State Police Command on charges of abusing social media usage within the state.
Musa is accused of posting a troubling video on his TikTok account, @faty5076, in which he denigrated state stakeholders as being unfair.

According to police, Musa has no evidence to support his statements made in the widely shared video. They further stated that because these individuals hold sensitive positions as public officials in the state and throughout Nigeria, such content could not only damage their reputations but also cause law and order to collapse.

SP Suleiman Yahaya, the Command's spokesperson, while vehemently denouncing the act, the police promised to deal with anyone who is determined to break the law.

He continued by saying that initial inquiries had shown that the TikToker intended to damage the reputations of well-known individuals and state authorities.

He went on to say that in order to prevent breaking the rules that establish and govern social media regulations, it is crucial to take proactive steps to direct and advise social media handlers to exercise caution when posting.

Boat explodes in Bayelsa, confirming the deaths of 20 passengers.
