200 Chinese companies eager to work with Nigeria economically -FG

More than 200 Chinese businesses are interested in making investments in the Nigerian economy, according to the Federal Government.



At a China-Nigeria Business event in Beijing on Friday, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, disclosed this.


Alkasim Abdulkadir, the minister's media aide, said in a statement on Friday that Tuggar's official visit to China was being marked with this business event, which was invited by Wang Yi, his counterpart in China.


The event, which was co-organized by the Nigerian Embassy and Yingke Law Firm, had the goal of strengthening economic relations and bilateral trade between the two countries.Amb. Tuggar emphasized the value of Nigeria and China's long-standing friendship while underlining their mutual respect and same developmental objectives.



A portion of the statement said, "This event is a testament to our commitment to strengthening Nigeria-China relations."


More than 200 Chinese businesses attended the event, all of them expressed a strong desire to promote trade and investment with Nigeria.


The announcement also stated that "more than 200 Chinese companies participated in the event, demonstrating a strong interest in fostering economic collaboration between the two nations."


High-level gatherings and activities are part of the minister's tour, including the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian and the Nigeria-China Intergovernmental Committee's inaugural Plenary Session in Beijing.


The statement went on, "These engagements are expected to further solidify the strategic partnership between Nigeria and China."


Tuggar will also launch and meet with ECOWAS Ambassadors inaugurate at the Nigerian Embassy the 4D Cultural Diplomacy Program of President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

SWAN: Team Nigeria's appalling performance at the Paris Olympics is unacceptable.

The performance of Team Nigeria in the 2024 Olympic Games has been characterized as significantly below expectations by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN). Through the Secretary-General of the Association, Amb.
