Death, indeed is an inevitable end and a universal calamity. It comes to all beings when it deems necessary. For me particularly, every person's death, especially a close relation diminishes me! It becomes far more devastating when the deceased is far younger than I am, like Nelson.
A kindly parson took the journey too. He was hardworking, diligent, disciplined, rich in holiness and in gold. A gentle pastor. I am devastated by his passing particularly because of his good character when he was alive. In this generation that moral fibre is rare, Nelson exuded a virtuous life based on self-control.
As he is laid to rest today, we pray for the repose of his soul while we ponder on the existential meaning of his given name - TARYUHA. The world (earth) is heavy! Indeed, the things of this world are heavy, deep and defy human comprehension.
However, one thing is sure; the only thing that walks back from the tomb with the mourners and refuses to be buried is the character of a man. What a man is survives him. It can never be buried. Your good deeds shall forever remain indelible in our hearts.
Rest in power, Pastor Nelson Taryuha Iorna and rise in glory - Amen!
