Yahaya Bello is allegedly hiding at Kogi Government House, according to PDP leader Usman Okai.

Austin Okai, the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) candidate for House of Representatives in the Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency in the 2023 elections, has asserted that Yahaya Bello, the most recent governor of Kogi State, is now hidden in the state government house.

Remember that Bello was listed as sought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in April?

This came after the former governor was unable to show up for his arraignment over alleged N84 billion in money laundering before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court Abuja.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to report right away to the commission or the closest police station, according to the anti-graft agency.

But the PDP leader said in a statement released on Friday that Ododo had assisted in "helping Bello evade the EFCC by whisking him away from Benghazi Street Zone 4 in Abuja."

He said, "The Northern Ethnic Youth Group Assembly (NEYGA) reportedly brought this information to the President and Commander-in-Chief." Ododo was also forewarned by the Attorney General of the Federation about obstructing justice.

Bello is reportedly hiding in the Kogi State Government House, where Governor Usman Ododo is providing him with protection.

"The fact still stands that Yahaya Bello is purportedly controlling Ododo from a covert location," Okai continued.

SWAN: Team Nigeria's appalling performance at the Paris Olympics is unacceptable.

The performance of Team Nigeria in the 2024 Olympic Games has been characterized as significantly below expectations by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN). Through the Secretary-General of the Association, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, SWAN President Mr. Isaiah Benjamin issued a statement stating that Nigeria's failure to return from the recently concluded Olympics with a medal was unacceptable. The Association blamed the country's enormous failure in Paris on administrative incompetence and ignorance, which became evident when the name of Favour Ofili, a highly regarded track and field athlete from Nigeria, was discovered to be missing from the list of competitors for the 100-meter event. After the Games, SWAN questioned why there were so many claims of medal hauls that administered by the sports authorities despite their full knowledge that nothing, not even the amount of preparation necessary to ensure a podium finish, was in place. Nigerians were led to believe that ev...
