President Tinubu Addresses Nation Over Hardship Protests

On Wednesday, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, called a meeting with ministers to discuss the intended statewide protest against Nigerian youths' economic hardships. 

As youth prepare to march on August 1st, 2024, a source who talked with Punch on the conclusion of the meeting said that President Bola Tinubu may address Nigerians to put a halt to the planned demonstration. According to the source, ministers have also been directed to compile three important successes and deliver them to Nigerians.


The source stated, "All ministers were present. They proposed that there be a national speech. It was advised that the President himself handle it. However, the recommendation must first be presented to the President.
