Controversial singer Portable has called off the planned nationwide demonstration against the growing cost of living amid the continuing economic unrest in Nigeria, saying it is needless.

This declaration is being made as many Nigerians get ready to protest against President Bola Tinubu's administration's worsening economic conditions between August 1 and August 10, 2024.
Portable recently shared his disapproval of the protest on Instagram, claiming that it shows a lack of desire and personal accountability.

The singer claims that people who plan to take part are just idle and unemployed, implying that their It would be more beneficial to invest energy on seeking chances for personal development.

Portable chastised the demonstrators for their supposed indolence and stated clearly that he should not be expected to perform at the demonstrations.

He stated, "It won't sit well with anyone who suggests that I put on a show during the demonstration. Do you not also have a producer? Get a microphone and join the protest as well.
