On Wednesday night, Oyo State Governor Engr Seyi Makinde paid a visit to High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland and former state governor, at his Ondo Street home in the state capital of Ibadan.
It was learned that the visit may have something to do with High Chief Ladoja receiving a ceremonial beaded crown.
Remember that on Sunday, Ladoja made his formal acceptance of the ceremonial crown known to the public during a live radio broadcast from Ibadan.
He claimed that even though he accepted the ceremonial crown, he was not now an Oba because Ibadanland's Olubadan is the sole recognized monarch.
According to people with knowledge of the encounter, Governor Makinde arrived at Bodija's Ondo Street in Ladoja Around six o'clock at night, the governor left the city after the two leaders had a private meeting. They then returned outdoors to continue their discussion for a short while.
They talked extensively, mostly about the advancement of the state as a whole and Ibadanland in particular. According to a source, they also talked about the ceremonial beaded crown.
Another source expressed happiness about the governor's visit to Ladoja, stating, "We were thrilled to have Makinde visit us yesterday. Otun Olubadan and the governor get along well. Disregard what other people are saying. The visit was like a simple son going to say hello to his father.
It was also learned that arrangements had already been made for the crown to be given to Otun Olubadan.
The display of beaded title, which was scheduled for this week, was moved to the next week.
