Four Nigerian Army soldiers were shot and killed by gunmen on Saturday night in Gudu local government area, a border hamlet in Sokoto State.
After being shot, seven more military troops were injured. They are now receiving emergency care at the Gudu General Hospital, but it is anticipated that they will be sent to the Usmanu Danfodiyo Teaching Hospital in Sokoto for longer-term care.
The local government's only administrator, Hon. Umar MaiKano Balle, told reporters about this most recent attack over the phone.
Remember that last week, eight farmers were attacked by suspected terrorists, resulting in the loss of roughly 1,260 animals in the area . grateful for the security staff's prompt action.
"This attack was related to the coordination, resolve, diligence, and commitment between the security personnel and the council management to stop banditry operations in the area."
However, he did affirm that once more security guards were sent to the area in response to the event, things have returned to a rather regular state.
"Many of us residents, escaped the ambush by whisker," Balle recounted.
