Officers Detain Man Who Killed His Eight-Year-Old Cousin

A 22-year-old suspect named Muhammad Mustapha has been taken into custody by Adamawa State Police Command operators for the abduction and murder of his 8-year-old cousin Muhammad Auwal Khalifa.

The victim, Khalifa, was from Adamawa State's Madina Ward in the Mubi North local government area.

The victim was abducted by the suspect, who took him to a secret place and demanded N2.8 million in ransom to be released.

But before the money could be collected and the ransom paid, the culprit drunkened his victim before strangling the tiny child to death.

Mustapha was later taken into custody by Adamawa State Intelligence Department (SID) detectives after a report was made by Harris Muhammad, the victim's father and uncle.
