The House decided to form a committee to look into the charge against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after Hon. Patrick Umoh made a resolution headed "Urgent Need to Investigate the Disturbing Allegation of Corruption Against the EFCC and the Nigerian Correctional Service."

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service are two important Nigerian law enforcement agencies that have been the target of a troubling and extensively shared article by Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.
Additionally, observes According to the article, after receiving the payment of fifteen million naira (15, 000, 000), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) allegedly dropped money laundering charges against Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky:

"Urge the House to set up an ad-hoc Committee comprising persons of unquestionable integrity to probe the allegation immediately and report to the House within three legislative weeks," the resolution further requests.
