President Bola Ahmed Tinubu attended Eid-el-Kabir prayers at the Dodan Barracks in Lagos State alongside top government officials and dignitaries. Tinubu urged Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion, and generosity, especially towards the vulnerable. He urged them to pray and give to those who are vulnerable, come together, and love everyone fully. The Chief Imam called on worshipers to live in peace and consider the needs of their neighbors, the poor, and vulnerable. In his message to mark the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Tinubu called on Nigerians to be patient with his administration's reforms, assuring that "the toughest days are behind us." He urged Nigerians not to lose hope and to hold onto their faith and persevere, as reforms are gaining traction and moving in a positive direction.

At the Dodan Barracks prayer ground in Lagos State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu joined Muslims in observing Eid-el-Kabir prayers on Friday. Femi Gbajabiamila, the president's chief of staff; Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the national security adviser; Muhammed Badaru Abubakar, the minister of defense; Adegboyega Oyetola, the minister of marine and blue economy; and Bello Muhammed Matawalle, the minister of state for defense, were among the prominent government officials and dignitaries who accompanied the president. Tinubu is joined by high-ranking government officials in Lagos for Eid-el-Kabir prayers. X| DOlusegun is credited. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), the former minister of power and former governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the deputy governor of Lagos State, and Alhaji Aliko Dangote, president of the Dangote Group, were also present.

SWAN: Team Nigeria's appalling performance at the Paris Olympics is unacceptable.

The performance of Team Nigeria in the 2024 Olympic Games has been characterized as significantly below expectations by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN). Through the Secretary-General of the Association, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, SWAN President Mr. Isaiah Benjamin issued a statement stating that Nigeria's failure to return from the recently concluded Olympics with a medal was unacceptable. The Association blamed the country's enormous failure in Paris on administrative incompetence and ignorance, which became evident when the name of Favour Ofili, a highly regarded track and field athlete from Nigeria, was discovered to be missing from the list of competitors for the 100-meter event.
