According  to  a  colleague,  Professor  Francis  Bala  Akwash,  a  lecturer  at  Nasarawa  State  University,  Keffi  (NSUK),  has  passed  away. Following  a  protracted  illness,  Professor  Akwash  passed  away  in  the  early  hours  of  Sunday,  March  31,  2024.

A court remands a senator in prison for forging a NYSC certificate.

  A High Court in Apo, Abuja, has remanded Senator Benson Konbowei, who is currently serving, to Kuje Correctional Center for suspected forgery of the NYSC exemption certificate. On March 26, 2024, the Bayelsa Central Senator was arraigned before Justice Christopher Oba. The Inspector General of Police charged Konbowei with fraudulently forging a document named "Certificate of Exemption" with number 000256454 and dated July 4, 2008, in the case designated CR/028/2023. According to the police, the Senator violated the Penal Code Act (CAP 532 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990) Sections 366, 156, and 158, and was subject to penalty under Section 364 of the same Act. When the Senator was first charged earlier on Tuesday, he entered a not guilty plea to the allegations. He was given permission to return home by the court, and his bail application hearing was rescheduled until Thursday, March 28, 2024. The Ogun State Government has declared that 70,000 people will gain free access to medical care for a year as part of its health insurance program. In an interview with reporters on Saturday in Abeokuta, Dr. Afolabi Dosunmu, the Executive Secretary of the Ogun State Health Insurance Agency (OGSHIA), said this. In Ogun, police apprehend two "one-chance" thieves.

 In Ogun State's Ewekoro Local  Government Area, the police have detained two people who they believe to be members of a group of one-chance robbers. One-chance robbers are thieves that use cars to operate, pose as drivers and passengers, then pick up unsuspecting victims to forcefully take their possessions.
